The Last Shoot

The last day on set for The Playboy Club was unforgettable. The episode featured the very talented Javier Colon, winner of the The Voice. Javier is a force! He was gracious, talented, and supportive. See Whitney, the Hefettes and Javier below.

Through and through, it was a truly amazing experience. Every episode and rehearsal was physically, mentally and artistically challenging. Working with famed choreographer Fatima Robinson (Dreamgirls, Aaliyah, The Black Eyed Peas) and directors like Alan Taylor (Game of Thrones, Boardwalk Empire), Scott Winant (Californication, My So Called Life), and Holy Dale (Flashpoint, Cold Case), was humbling and inspiring. Additionally Chad Hodge, the show’s main writer and one of its producers, has one of the best work ethics in the biz.

The show will be living on in other forms so be sure to check back for updates, DVD release info and more. Many wishes and best of luck to the cast and crew going forward.

On Set

Yesterday I had a commercial booking for Restaurant.com out in Schaumburg at West Wood Tavern. The job was cast and shot with Alter. There was a lot of diversity on set; actors, models, and employees of Restaurant.com.

Above is a shot of the bar from the second level. Westwood Tavern provided food. (Is it bad for a model to eat a mini pulled pork sandwich on set?)

Here is the look they gave me; non seasonal, fun makeup, print dress by Ann Taylor. The Alter team was patient and professional as usual. This past Spring I also did a shoot for Courvoisier Rose with Alter.

Watching the creative team turn the location into a shoot; setting up lighting, equipment and managing talent is always exciting. There is a lot of foresight that goes into a shoot and

Alter specializes in high impact digital images and CGI.  Check out their blog for sample work and more info! Special thanks to Gray Talent Group for the booking.

New Press!

I recently did an interview for AndWePresent.com, an entertainment website covering urban fashion, music, and celebrity news. Look out for the published feature by the end of the week.

We met up at Cafe Cito, the best Cuban sandwich joint in Chicago. The staff was very welcoming and the writers were great. We chatted about my current projects and future plans.

Below is the scene at the cafe, located in the loop near Roosevelt. Menu must try: the Ropa Vieja sandwich. Yum Yum.

JC Brooks and The Uptown Sound Video

So excited to make this post!  Yesterday Whitney shot with JC Brooks and The Uptown Sound for their upcoming release “Everything will be Fine”.

The Uptown Sound is a soul outfit based out of Chicago that brings life to classic jams and mixes them with their own original pieces. This Friday they are performing at Doubledoor, and throughout September they will be touring Spain and Italy.

Whitney first worked with the band on Passing Strange with Bailiwick Chicago spring of 2011.  Their album is on pre-sale now at Amazon.com with an official release October 25th.

Nice whip…

C’est La Vie

I have to give a shout out to the recently opened Paris Club.  The restaurant and lounge feature spectacular service,  stunning property features, and classy French flare. Did I mention the DJ was on FIRE???? Looks like Chicago is getting more Hollywood every day.
