On Set

Yesterday I had a commercial booking for Restaurant.com out in Schaumburg at West Wood Tavern. The job was cast and shot with Alter. There was a lot of diversity on set; actors, models, and employees of Restaurant.com.

Above is a shot of the bar from the second level. Westwood Tavern provided food. (Is it bad for a model to eat a mini pulled pork sandwich on set?)

Here is the look they gave me; non seasonal, fun makeup, print dress by Ann Taylor. The Alter team was patient and professional as usual. This past Spring I also did a shoot for Courvoisier Rose with Alter.

Watching the creative team turn the location into a shoot; setting up lighting, equipment and managing talent is always exciting. There is a lot of foresight that goes into a shoot and

Alter specializes in high impact digital images and CGI.  Check out their blog for sample work and more info! Special thanks to Gray Talent Group for the booking.

A lil’ gumbo and lots of love

The cast of Spunk! bid adieu to the Court Theater this past weekend. It was a very successful and heartfelt journey.  Working at Court is like being temporarily adopted by a really kick ass family. The creative team and staff work together to put a piece up and go out of their way to include you in their traditions.  How many casting directors make huge pots of gumbo, bread pudding, and a mound of cornbread muffins for the cast and team every show? Casts have been known to literally run off the stage to get a bowl of Cree Rankin’s food on “Gumbo Day”.

It is going to be particularly difficult to say goodbye to jazz phenomenon Kelvyn Bell,  “The Kelvynator”.  His fervor for arts and music is inspiring to say the very least. With his help Whitney is now on the path to becoming a 4 star scat singer. Kelvyn has a wealth of stories and experience and is one of the most creative minds in music and theater.  Oh well… until Whitney’s next job at Court Theatre, we will be dreaming of Cree’s Gumbo!

And now Announcing: Love Loss and What I Wore

A little while back we posted that there was an exciting announcement coming up. Well, after getting the official paperwork we are really excited to say that this winter Whitney will be joining the cast of Love Lass and What I Wore directed by Karen Carpenter and based on the book by Ilene Beckerman. The show will be running at the Broadway Playhouse in Chicago through December 7th.

The show has featured actresses like Rosie O’donnell, Fran Drescher, Tichina Arnold, Emmanelle Chirqui and many more. This was one of those bookings you feel really proud of: waking up early and crashing an Equity call, waiting in line for hours, finally being seen, and getting called back. It reminds you that if you see something you believe is fit for you, go after it. This will be Whitney’s first Broadway in Chicago show. Stay tuned for behind the scenes access and more information!

The Scarlet Bunny

Last night’s episode of The Playboy Club, “The Scarlet Bunny” (101)  was really exciting! It is always interesting to see the final cut.  While filming you only get to see clips of playback and you never know what will be put in the episode and what will be left out. But last night’s episode had a great feature of the Whitney and the Heffettes singing and dancing to “In the Mood” and “Walk Like a Man”.

*A shot of Whitney White and Logan Vaughn from 101

We got to know a little more about the bunnies and the politics of the club as the girls vied for a cover girl competition and Maureen became the smoking hot “Scarlett Bunny”. Miss the episode? Watch the entire show here. *Keep an eye out for 23:22 🙂

Here is one of our favorite promo’s for the show. Watch the first episodes and decide for yourself!

The Playhouse

Thanks so much to everyone who tuned into the Playboy Club on NBC last night! Next week the plot thickens and there will be more bunnies, more music and a lot more drama.

Recently Whitney stopped by the Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place to check out the scene and it was looking as beautiful as ever.  Soon we will be announcing some very exciting news so check in! Here is another shot of the outside of the theatre.

Get out your Hairspray…

The Drury Lane Hairspray call yesterday in Chicago was crazy! It can be easy to forget how competitive the Chicago market really is,  specifically the musical theatre market, as many equity calls have small to medium size turnouts. But you wouldn’t know that from yesterday’s dance call.

Both the waiting and dance room were jam packed. But everyone was very positive and eager; singing songs from the show, catching up, stretching and chatting. You got the feeling that this was a favorite for many.    Hairspray is one of those musicals that really resonates with perfomers of all shapes, colors and sizes and remains relevant.

While there Whitney bumped into a lot of familiar faces including Steven Perkins and Sharisse Hamilton (shown here) whom she worked with in Passing Strange.

The dance routine was a lot of fun but everyone is going to be a little sore today!

Fingers Crossed!

Countdown: 4 Days

“Chicago, Chicago, that toddelin’ town…”

The entire process has been a great and we can only wait to see how it is all going to come together.
